Good morning

I am here joining in with Annies smiles you can find them here, I have been finishing off my birthday celebrations with a girls lunch out last Friday when 10 of us met up at 12.30pm we had a lovely lunch, lots of laughter and finally went home at 4.30pm.... some the worse for wear! not me though as I was driving.
On Saturday, my Grandson Ryan and fiance Amy took me off for afternoon tea to Cloud 23 at the Hilton.(as the name tells you, it is on floor 23 lol ) at Manchester,
As we were a little early we called in at Rylands Library which is a wonderful building. The light takes the colour from the magnificent windows.
The reading rooms a still very much in use.

The original toilets which are still in use ( new ones also) I tried it out lol...
The views were wonderful over the city. Little people and matchbox cars
A hard decision selecting cocktails.....
We started with cocktails but they refused to buy me Champagne at £800 at bottle even though it was a birthday treat lol..
The food was delicious! all freshly made with as much tea/coffee as you wanted. (jam and clotted cream scones on bottom shelf )

We spent a lovely 2 hours there, helped along by the head waiter in a sharp suit and a really cute bottom (not that I noticed lol) !!

Off to bowling this morning and then more fence painting if it stays dry, Thanks for your visit

Hello again

I am linking up with Annie,s Friday smiles where we share our happy bits of the week.
Well, I have been to Fort William for my birthday (a BIG one lol ) and stayed in a super cottage opposite Ben Nevis and with Loch Locky running at the bottom of the garden !!!wow, what views!
It is a salmon river and also they do get otters and seals, but although always on the lookout... I did not spot any...
I have never been still, so much to see, stunning scenery wherever you look....Bonnie Price Charlie looking for invaders

Beautiful town and ferry port of Malaig

The richness and fabulous stained glass windows of St Andrews Church in town
walks to waterfalls, the drive aroun Loch Leven was stunning....
Only one castle this trip...a ruin, a trip to Port Augustas.... the Abbey I wanted to see has been turned into a private hotel....The boat trips to spot Nessie were £15.00... so seeing I DON'T do water/boats and the fact no-one has actually seen Nessie, did not make me part with my dosh lol !
A visit to Oban, a walk in the forest where Braveheart was made, walks along the Caledonian canal, A cream tea for my birthday........

The cards I recieved before coming away to open on the day. (the crochet was laid out beforehand at home so I needed to keep it in order lol
And Finally, Taking the gondola's and then climbing the last bit of Ben Nevis on my last day !!!!
icy cold up there at 4406 ft but I did it !!
An 8 hour drive each way from home, one I won,t do again but I loved every miniute !!!
Thank you for your visit

Good morning.....

I am here to join in with Annie,s Friday  smiles, I have had a very busy week what with working 3  mornings and then catering for a buffet for 10 on Sunday.
My grandson took his long time girl-friend to the Lakes and proposed to her! Luckly, she said yes.......so I was shopping, cooking and baking for two long days lol, then it all had to be transported to their house on Sunday afternoon.
As if that was not enough to do, I made them a card
Then I decided to make some bunting, I used fat quarters that I bought in Aldi a few months ago, lovely cotton and 5 fat quaters for only £3.99p look out for these offers next time around, well worth the money and nice to work with. I could not have had a longer word with time so short.....34 triangles, home made binding, letters cut on Cricut, drawn on to fabric, cut out and sewn on to bunting!!
I only finished sewing at 12.30pm then put together the trifles, cooked the salmon, boiled the eggs and got everything in the car by 2.15pm.
Here is Ryan and Amy and my bunting.....
Beginning to put the food out, I did not get around to more pictures when people began to arrive.
Lots of smiles for me this week.

Happy Easter....

I hope you have all enjoyed your Easter break, hopefully not too much chocolate lol...I have been extra busy this week. I was asked by my grandson last week if I would do some shopping and make a trifle as he was taking his girlfriend Amy to the Lakes for 3 days to propose to her!

Of course I agreed but then it went Manic, it ended up a full scale buffet for 10!!

I worked Wednesday and Thursday morning, no shops open Friday that I needed, Saturday I worked until 1pm, went shopping, began cooking, 2 quiches, trifle, orange drizzle cake, cheese cake, fruit cake......tea for neighbour. Finished at 7.30pm and went to start making bunting....34 triangles need for Congratulations.....had to cut the letters on my cricut, draw round on fabric, cut out and sew the lot together, left it a 9.30pm knackered. Up at 7am, discovered I had not decorated inside of card,
after, I went back to bunting, finished at 12.30pm.... put together trifle, boiled eggs and new potatoes, salad, roasted a salmon in tinfoil,  put the whole lot in the car along with cooked ham, turkey, pasties and pies and transported it all to their house at 2pm....Just as well she said Yes !!!
(start of food prep, forgot the table later as people arrived.)

Everyone enjoyed it and I got home at 8pm and went straight to bed. This morning washing on line, baking tins put away and going to tidy up fabrics, thats me for the day!!
