This morning saw a little rain but not the thunder forecast for last evening, it will save watering the garden, my roses are beautiful at the moment but I suppose the rain will batter them!
Suppose I had better make a move as later I shall be a 'lady who lunches' lol......and not a stitch to wear lol !!

High force waterfall,

and Whitley bay lighthouse, we went to Bishop Auckland to do some shopping and a new power pack for my Laptop
Durham Cathedral and rowing on the river while I people watched.......

A visit to Raby Castle which is a mile from the cottage and the pretty church of Staindrop
imagine being able to drive your carriage into your entrance hall !!! That's a castle lol !

look at the small selection of jelly and pie moulds....a fantastic kitchen with 2 old ovens and a big fire with a spit for roasting the beef!
After our evening meal it was either monopoly or scrabble, the only times we play when on holiday.... lots of laughs over words or building sites! The weather was warm and sunny for most of the week, so much to do and see around that area. We had a really fun week.
Hope you can visit Annie with your smiles

Good morning

I am here joining in with Annies smiles you can find them here, I have been finishing off my birthday celebrations with a girls lunch out last Friday when 10 of us met up at 12.30pm we had a lovely lunch, lots of laughter and finally went home at 4.30pm.... some the worse for wear! not me though as I was driving.
On Saturday, my Grandson Ryan and fiance Amy took me off for afternoon tea to Cloud 23 at the Hilton.(as the name tells you, it is on floor 23 lol ) at Manchester,
As we were a little early we called in at Rylands Library which is a wonderful building. The light takes the colour from the magnificent windows.
The reading rooms a still very much in use.

The original toilets which are still in use ( new ones also) I tried it out lol...
The views were wonderful over the city. Little people and matchbox cars
A hard decision selecting cocktails.....
We started with cocktails but they refused to buy me Champagne at £800 at bottle even though it was a birthday treat lol..
The food was delicious! all freshly made with as much tea/coffee as you wanted. (jam and clotted cream scones on bottom shelf )

We spent a lovely 2 hours there, helped along by the head waiter in a sharp suit and a really cute bottom (not that I noticed lol) !!

Off to bowling this morning and then more fence painting if it stays dry, Thanks for your visit
