Another very frosty morning here, house in a right tip !! I emptied a unit two weeks ago in the shed as my grandson wanted it. I never got round to sorting the stuff from drawers. Last weekend we got all the Christmas stuff out of the loft as I am getting rid of it. Some now gone, more in shed to sort. On Wednesday, I got without a set of drawers in craft room and had to empty everything into boxes and bags, they are now on landing.Yesterday, the fridge freezer in shed broke so I had to move stuff to get old one out and new one in.... more stuff in greenhouse. Christmas card making stuff all over spare bed. I don't know where to start but it will not be the shed this morning!! lol

Good morning.....

I am linking up with Annies Friday Smiles today, lots of pictures here...
I have been working on these quilts for a few weeks..
The 2 quilts were an order for a lady expecting twin girls in the family soon.
She asked for similar but not the same, so hope this fits what she wants, I struggled to get any pink fabric for babies.

Just finished this weekend is an Advent calender which is going to my Great Nephew in New Zealand.

Next is my very first crochet garment. I only started to learn in April, and apart from a few squares, this is the result with many swear words and a few tantrums thrown in.

I am pleased with it now though!

And finally, after my mission to buy Father Christmas eyebrows,..... here they are......
Obviously, they will look different again with wig and beard next week!!!  lol
THURSDAY
I took myself off to my local pit head at Astley Green, The gear is still standing, and the local conservation team have been busy restoring the winding engines for quite a few years
Yesterday they ran the engine for only the 3rd time. It was wonderful to see, the biggest engines in the North. And the only one left in the country that is working.

My Uncle used to work in this engine house and on a Sunday,I would go for him at lunch time, (no health and safety then ) I would wander through the pit yard and up into the engine house,

The massive drum which wound the steel ropes for the cages, as thick as a mans arm .It was like a great beast to me at 7/8 years old, clanking and hissing.
He kept those engines spotless and shining along with his array of oil cans.

Our first snow of winter here at Manchester today now turned to rain but VERY cold lol

Hello again.....

Well this morning I was on a mission. I walked into town and first of all went to the Cenotaph for 11 am. Then into the main street where the Christmas market has been all week
a lot of stalls but not many customers
I then walked through the market hall and into the mall...... seems Christmas has arrived here as well

My mission and reason for the trip to town was to hunt out a Father Christmas set of eyebrows....!
My grandson goes out every year on the Rotary float and has got together a fine outfit, even the local optician made him a round pair of glasses at cost price!.... well ....... I hunted some down and a bottle of extra glue as he will need to use them at least 15 times!!! ( hope it is not superglue as he will look VERY STUPID WHEN HE IS AT WORK LOL )
this afternoon found me with Ibrophrophen along with my coffee while I was sewing...lol.....Hey Ho.....

This morning is indoor bowling and then a 'ladies who lunch'... my neighbour has a birthday today!
Still got sewing for an order,  to be done this weekend. I seem to have had a lazy week between working. Hope you have time for your hobbies

I,m late again..............

I,m late joining in Annie,s smiles..... got back on Friday afternoon from a week in Angelsey. Great weather for October and no rain. We stayed 3 miles outside of Beaumauris in a cute cottage.

cosy cottage with beams and seperate sun house,

I used this every day for a quiet hour to do some crocheting,

beautiful sunrises (sunset behind trees)

South stack lighthouse, we drove all along the coast

Amy loves to visit the animal farm near Criccieth

Ryan asked if he could play the organ at Canarvfon Parish Church and the visitors loved it...I feel so proud when I hear him on a church organ.
early sunrise
after a meal cooked at home, we listened to music, chatted or played scrabble around a log fire
I love family holidays!!
Done 2 loads of washing this morning and then once it became light I realized it was drizzling and it has continued all day !!! hate using the dryer, but needs must ! lol

PS thanks you all for your smiles this week, catching up so not sure if I can visit everyone x
